Keto Basic 90 Second Egg White Mug Bread

67 ratings

If you’re in a pinch for really quick and easy Keto bread recipes, the 90-second mug bread is the recipe for you. This super basic mug bread recipe uses only egg whites to avoid that infamous egg taste Keto bread often has. If you enjoy your bread plain, you may wish to eat this mug bread with your favorite Keto spread or dip, or you may just like to smooth a creamy butter over it while it’s hot. Check out Carb Manager’s herb butter and compound butter recipes to add a little extra flavor to your snack. This is the best Keto bread recipe to make when you’re looking for quick calories before a workout or simply a boost of energy during your day. Comment on this recipe with any personal modifications or flavors you decide to add on!

Variations For 90 Second Mug Bread

We aren’t kidding when we call this 90-second Keto bread recipe “basic”. However, the Carb Manager community is anything but basic and highly creative! This simple recipe allows you to build onto it with any of your favorite bread aromas and flavors. Try adding fresh herbs or garlic to your mix. Before placing your mug in the microwave, top the raw dough off with grated cheese or crunchy keto seeds. You could even add a dollop of sour cream, mayonnaise, or mustard to your mug mix for a little tang and extra moisture.

How Can I Add More Fat To My Keto Bread Recipe?

The original recipe for Keto mug bread does have fats derived from the almond flour and melted butter. If you’d like a little more fat, try mixing shredded cheese into your raw dough. Sesame seeds are another surprising, low-carb way to add fat with little to no carbs to your mug bread. If you’re not a vegetarian, chopped bacon bits or crumbled pork rinds would be a texturally satisfying way to include more fats. If you can think of another Keto underdog for increasing fats to your mug bread, sound off in the comments, and share your ideas!

I used 1/8 cup carbquik and 2 tablespoons each of oat fiber and water instead of the almond flour. Still turned out good.

This mug biscuit was amazing and simple to make. A++ for this recipe! I added just a tad of vanilla, cream cheese and 1 carb worth of blackberries. Perfect recipe and so fulfilling!

This is quick and easy, don’t expect it to taste like regular bread because it definitely doesn’t, but it is nice and does give that feeling of comfort food. It’s so good to have something to put eggs on!

Just what I wanted! This is an easy and satisfying quick mug bread. I used a whole egg, which, I believe adds 5g fat and about 40 calories. Was great as a base for cream cheese. New favorite!

Nice platform for some cream cheese, peanut butter etc. KETO friendly of course. It’s going in the favourite recipe tab

Awesome! I’ve been making the same recipe but with the whole egg. I need to find out how much the macros would be on that with the yolk. Also, I hate to throw out the yolks. What do you do with all your yolks I like to make a bunch of them, freeze them individually and then put them in a Ziploc bag so I would have a bunch of yolks I need to figure out to make something keto with. Thanks again.

Make this in an English muffin form, and with the yolks, make a hollandaise for a delicious Benedict.

Tried this for the for the first time today but I only had lupin flour for the recipe. It actually tasted quite nice but as I also used salted lurpak and added the pinch of salt, it was over-salty. The consistency was that of normal bread and I can definitely see me using this going forward.
